Poppy Jasper always reminds me of a modern art painting when cut well.  The round blotches of color are where it gets its name. This gem is from our own Central California mine in Morgan Hill which was closed long ago to make way for a housing development. It’s been a collector’s “must have” since the 1950’s.  This gem was cut from rough rock mined before the developers dynamited the hills to level the land for home construction.  I love the shape that the gem cutter chose to frame the pattern.  Such simple elegance you will find fits perfectly in your wardrobe.
